  7. Discussion and vote for allowing Computer Engineering (CEN) M.S. students to obtain credit for M.S. CEN courses after transfer to EE Ph.D. program (A. Roy-Chowdhury)
    • Ph.D. students in EE will be allowed to obtain a master's degree in CEN “along the way” to their Ph.D. degree; similar to the way student is allowed to obtain a master's degree in EE when pursuing a Ph.D. degree in EE.
    • M.S. graduates in CEN who transfer to the Ph.D. program in EE will be allowed to count their CEN course units toward their Ph.D. degree; similar to how M.S. graduates in EE do when they continue to their Ph.D. degree.
    • Justification: While CEN is an M.S. program jointly administered by ECE and CSE departments, there is no equivalent Ph.D. program; thus, M.S. students in CEN have to continue in either the EE or CS program to obtain a terminal degree. This change allows students to continue to the Ph.D. program in EE.

    • Use of Rooms 109, 125, 215 and 223 Winston Chung Hall
