The MISR instrument, which flies aboard the NASA Earth Observing System’s Terra satellite, is generally used for aerosol source characterization from space, can be used to estimate both the horizontal plume spread and the plume height above ground level. MISR imaging complements ground and remote measurements if the satellite is in the right place during the field study. |
