Jessica Fu - 1st Year Computer Science
Jessica Fu is a first year Computer Science major at University of California, Riverside. This year, she joined the Society of Women Engineers and helped plan Bourns Engineering Day, an outreach event designed to inspire children to pursue a future in engineering. She would like to continue working with SWE in the future. Jessica is the first in her family majoring in Computer Science and plans to master's degree. In the future, she hopes to work for Disney, Pixar, or another film company. She is excited to work at the university in Wuhan. Jessica is also very excited to travel to China in order experience the culture, especially because of her own ethnicity. She hopes to gain experience and enjoy her stay in China.
Christine Hawley - 3rd Year Computer Science
Christine Hawley is a third year Computer Science major at the University of California, Riverside (UCR). She is an active officer in both the Association of Computer Machinery (ACM) and Society of Women Engineers(SWE) on campus. She hopes to combine both her passion for endangered species conservation, research, and care with her computer skills.
Jasmine Moreno - 1st Year Electrical Engineering
Jasmine is a first year majoring in Electrical Engineering. She is involved in the Society of Women Engineers, and recently got elected as an outreach officer. She is excited for this position because she enjoys working with children and hopes to inspire them to become engineers. She is the first in her family to pursue a degree in the engineering field. She plans to get her master’s degree. The current economic downturn has affected members of her family. This only emphasizes the value of a college education. She doesn’t want to be in college just to get a degree; she wants to go for the joy of learning, in preparation for her future job.
Hakeem Omotayo - 3rd Year Biological Engineering
Hakeem Omotayo is a third year bioengineering major at the University of California, Riverside. He is Membership Chair of the National Society of Black Engineers. Hakeem is also actively involved in the Biomedical Engineering Society at UCR and the Chinese Martial Arts club. He enjoys outreach events that get students interested in engineering. He plans to pursue a Ph.D in bioengineering.
Russell Perry - 3rd Year Electrical Engineering
Russell is a 3rd year undergraduate student at UCR. He is the program chair and UAV coordinator of IEEE. He is a member of the honors program and tau beta pi honors engineering fraternity. He looks forward to his trip in china and hopes to continue his education in the graduate school.
