Today we had some free time, so we decided to go to the Underground City with some new friends, Chris and Georgie from England. The Underground City is a large bomb shelter built during the cold war, and was turned into a museum afterwards. Unfortunately, we discovered this at the gate. We didn't know exactly where the city was, so we went hired a few motorcycle petty cab drivers to take us there. They said that they knew where it was, but that it “might be” closed. After they took us there and we paid, then they came clean and said “yes, it is closed.”

It was very rainy today. The unfortunate thing about Beijing rain is that the temperature is still warm, so jackets are uncomfortable. But umbrellas are cheap and plentiful, and KFC still delivers in the rain.

One of two churches that we have found in Beijing. This one was one of the original buildings built during the European colonialization efforts.
We found this statue hidden down a back alleyway, behind a big mud patch. (Georgie, statue, Cody, and Isaac).
The dangers of traveling in Beijing.
The church again.
Isaac, David, and Chris managed to claim seats on the crowded subway.
