Unbelievable! For the first time since we have been in China, we saw our shadows. The sky was clear and blue. We started off this beautiful morning with a short breakfast meeting with Professor Albert Wang and the host students: Peng, Feng, and Sparkle. After breakfast we headed to the lab to run some simulations on ANSYS. It was amazing seeing our lab work in the simulation. This allowed us to fix any errors in our data before we programmed the silicon wafer. After a few hours we took a lunch break. During our one hour break we were able to finish the remainder of our registration paper work in the Tsinghua University administrative offices.

After lunch we returned to the lab to input our final data into the computer for one last simulation for the day, just to make sure everything was working properly. After the simulation, for the remainder of the day we explored the campus and found a very extensive bookstore with textbooks at low prices. Cody was able to find a textbook on Graph Theory for only 70 yuan.

At 9:30pm, we got together with the host students and some of the lab volunteers to watch the FIFA World Cup quarterfinal match Netherlands vs Brazil. We learned that it is common in China for people to get together for a sports game, just like in the United States when families get together for the Super Bowl, except this was a whole neighborhood gathering in front of several big screen TVs. We started the morning with a bright blue sky and ended the night with an exciting social gathering.

The skies cleared up after the rain, and for the first time we could see the blue sky.

American Food! The -1 floor of the cafeteria has an American restaurant, complete with pizza and onion rings.
