This morning we visited a new IC lab at Tsinghua, and took a tour. This particular lab is on the first floor of the same building as the other IC lab, and again required bunny suits. It's interesting how the labs collect equipment over the years, and to untrained eyes like ourselves it's very difficult to determine what equipment is actually being used and what equipment is obsolete. This lab does have more shiny and sleek equipment though. As a side note, we have received permission to photograph in the IC lab that we have been visiting, so expect to see some more pictures.

The weather here is very warm, hovering in the 90's (F). In addition to the temperature, Beijing residents have to deal with the pervasive humidity. In order to survive, you pretty much have to relegate yourself to being constantly sweaty and sticky. There isn't really a way around it, even at night. Using the bicycle as the main form of transportation quickly works up a sweat, and even just standing around is uncomfortably warm. Fortunately, we have cold showers available, and warm showers in the afternoons and late evenings.

How to park a bike in China: Park in any location. Optional: park in designated space. Optional: lock the bike to itself. Don't do: securely lock the bike. If you have to lock the bike to something, then it's too valuable anyway and it won't last a moment alone.
This guy was just sitting on the curb when we rode by. Looks like he has dinner planned.
